Greetings All,
Today I wandered about Weld County, encountering 127 species, including a rarity or two, though no swarms of eastern warblers. For full disclosure, I must admit dipping into Larimer a bit. Highlights were CROW VALLEY CAMPGROUND 2 Broad-winged Hawks (ad and imm) 1 Black-throated Green Warbler (female) 3 Ovenbirds 1 Northern Waterthrush 1 Summer Tanager 2 Least Flycatchers and perhaps of lesser note- slightly late Pine Siskin, RB Nuthatch, RC Kinglet. Also, 1 RH Woodpecker at entrance and 2 Upland Sandpipers flying over campground at about 6:30AM doing display flight and song WINDSOR LAKE Black-legged Kittiwake remains, one immature... though it left to the northwest for about 15 minutes after a Bald Eagle passed over. To where? ARCTIC TERN. Feeding actively over lake for the entire hour I was there. FOSSIL CREEK RES, LARIMER 2 "winter plumaged" Common Loons 4 Common Mergansers DUCK LAKE, LARIMER 1 Bufflehead KODAK WILDLIFE AREA (s. of Windsor) 1 Least Flycatcher 2 Purple Martins (male and female) BEEBE DRAW Along 42, between 47 and 45 (road numbers) 2 Glossy Ibis among 25+ WF Ibis Along 40 2 Sandhill Cranes A fine day, even if it wasn't sunny as advertised Cheers Steven Mlodinow -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
