Hello. I'll be heading to RMNP with my family tomorrow. There are a few birds that I know are tough, but would like to at least try for. Here are the birds and the places I plan to look based on eBird.
White-ptailed Ptarmigan - recent sightings on Trail Ridge Rd at Medicine Bow Curve and visitors center Brown-capped Rosy-finch - recent sightings at Trail Ridge Rd - Rock Cut Northern Saw-whet Owl or Western Screech-Owl - old sightings at RMNP - Cow Creek If anyone has some alternate suggestions on these, I'd really appreciate it. I won't be using recordings, so I'm aware that the owls may be especially difficult if it's the wrong time of year.
