After visiting Red Rocks this morning, Michael Kiessig, Rob Raker and I spent some time in Bear Creek Lake Park (BCLP). Several interesting observations:

Harlan's Hawk dark phase very wary - did not allow a close approach (tried several times) seen along the Turkey Creek drainage from the lake to below the campground
American Pipit paler adult seen strutting at Boat Launch area -
Northern Shrike adult seen in open country in and around the Stables
Common Loon adult nonbreeding plumage seen off Pelican point in the SW quadrant of the lake - previously was seen in the North half of the lake

Good variety of water birds on lake including Canada Goose, Mallards, Gadwalls, American Wigeons (often with Coots), Northern Pintail (4), Green-winged Teal(2), Buffleheads, Ruddy Duck(2), Pied-billed Grebes,
Western Grebe(2), and one American White Pelican.
