Greetings All

Today Larry Arnold and I covered much ground in Delta and Mesa County. At
times, the birds were a bit thin on the ground, but we had surprisingly good
diversity (117 species) and some interesting birds nonetheless... plus stunning
countryside.

The highlights include a WINTER WREN on the south side of Mesa County Road 141
at mile post 143 and a GLOSSY IBIS at Highline Reservoir (among 94 White-faced
Ibis).

Other birds of some note included
8 Black-necked Stilts, 1 Marbled Godwit, 4 Willets, 1 American Bittern at
Fruitgrowers Reservoir (Delta)
1 Snowy Egret at Schweizer Lake (Delta)
2 Greater Scaup (pair, seen in flight) and 3 Wilson's Phalaropes at Cheney
Reservoir (Mesa)
1 Black-throated Gray Warbler, Green-tailed Towhee, and Northern Pygmy-Owl
along Divide Road (Mesa)
9 Marbled Godwit and 12 Willet at Highline Reservoir

Time to sleep!!!
Good Birding
