This will be matched if you put an assignment expression, ie an assignment
without the semicolon.
My analysis result is improved a bit if I omit semicolons at two line ends for
the discussed filter approach.

Now I wonder why the assignment from "fopen" is marked while the other statement
with the "malloc" is still missing the leading minus character.
