Try using <map:transform type="log"/> after xinclude, this will show you 
the xml-content
after xinclude transformation, and before xinclude
Perhaps the xslt processing eats up the include element?
Use copyover.xsl to copy elements see in the documents stylesheet 
directory for copyover.
