Hi,

Currently Linux is a daunting OS for newcomers. It takes a long time to learn
about its inner workings, and to master the command line - and this is one of
the reasons preventing people from taking up Linux. So I have an idea that
would make it easier for people to learn how to use linux.

It involves some enhanced features around the shell. The idea is to have
lists of commands, admin functions, and command examples that can be accessed
in windows alongside and below the shell itself when it is launched. This will
require some GUI coding. This type of idea has been discussed amongst IT people
before but nothing much has happened about it. Now may be the opportunity.

I also have some other ideas for making Linux easier to learn - including a
remastered linux - but the above one is the main idea. I'm not a coder myself
but I have been working on the command lists and admin functions. If there are
any coder/s who might be interested in working on this project, please let me
know.

  Thanks,
  RR (new SLUG member)
