Yep, exactly. DefaultXmlBeanFactory can do the file reading for you, but it doesn't have to. It's usually easier just to let it, but if you need complex parameterization of the bean config, you can circumvent the automatic file reading.

Oh I think I see, you aren't actually pointing CS at the XML file, you're reading in the XML (generated however you want to) and passing that XML into CS when you create the factory.
