care to name a few of the most common font names in Linux, in both serif
& sans serif style? would appreciate that. maybe w/ graphic examples
somewhere online, too :)

a personal opinion: i'm used to make the stuff for IE4/IE5/NS4/NS6
(PC/MAC/?) simply because
a) that's where the vast majority of users are (95-98% or so...)
b) they are WYSIQFNWYG - QFN=quite-fuck'n-near (again 90-something-%)
(being a total asshole i want to pleasemyself first - (especially) when
it comes to personal projects;)

i think the mentioned percentages are enough, keeping in mind it's
possible to have some pleasure for the eye + perhaps a bit of logic to
usability.
call me a fascist if you want but i don't think we always should go by
the lowest common ABOMINATOR.
