I have a list like this. it's one shelf that I've loaded
up with books I bought but haven't opened, or books with
bookmarks sticking out.
I've found out that if i organise them like this, I can go
to the shelf and ALWAYS find something I'd like to read for
an hour or two !

that's cool. and when you're hanging out with someone, use
the "IBM Method": just flip thru the book until they say stop,
and then pick a page section at random. you can get good stuff.
and if it sucks, bail.

Edgar Rice Burroughs ? better than his Tarzan stories:
The Martian novels. I've read'em all. Great stuff.
I'm not much into fantasy stories, but for some reason
Burroughs's Martian stuff hits the spot.
Frank Fazetta did a lot of the cover art, his
stuff is better than Boris Valehjo (sp?) IMHO.
