There are lots of threads out there of other people doing things like this, 
since running the tests from within an existing jar is fundamental for many use 
cases. IMO it is bananas that gradle doesn't support it out of the box. I think 
just by snagging output source sets - which it looks like you can sort of 
deliberately expose in controlled ways - we should be able to do it kind of 
like we do today.
