I've pushed a version
[here|https://github.com/belliottsmith/cassandra/tree/8773] that delivers this,
although it depends on Java sorting so not all types will behave properly. It
may be a little brittle as well, as I have only tested it a little. I don't
intend to chase down exhaustively every avenue, as the code as it stands is
really not very good, and I intend to address it all thoroughly in
CASSANDRA-8986. This should do the job until then.
