   You can take a deep look at the mentioned PR: 
https://github.com/apache/nuttx/pull/15079 didn't remove any existing code. It 
implemented the feature.

   We disagreed on that (and that's fine, we agreed that we can disagree! ;) ). 
However, that upper-half driver was accepted at the time it was provided. Then, 
you can't dictate that some individual (or company) should deal with it because 
_you_ don't like it. This would even be true even if the whole community now 
has a different understanding and considers it an OS architecture problem: no 
one can dictate that someone is responsible for it because it didn't break any 
existing build or usage. This is an open-source project and we (talking as a 
PMC member) need to understand that contributors have a different set of 
priorities.
