Thanks @DanielLeens — done. Rebased onto the latest `dev` (was 326 behind, now directly on top). dev hadn't touched `connector-socket` at all over those commits, so it was conflict-free, and the diff is just this PR's two files: the `SocketSourceReader` lifecycle fix (reader owned by `open()`/`close()`, `close()` using try-finally) and the regression test.
