Thanks @CryoThrust. PR #12065 is now merged, and its `ConfigValidationResult` already supplies the versioned config-level model needed for an adapter. The next slice should be a separate focused issue and PR rather than reopening this broader discussion. The preferred CLI surface is `--check --format json`: JSON only on stdout, operational logs and diagnostics on stderr, and the existing human-readable default output and exit behavior unchanged when the format flag is absent. The adapter should serialize the existing result model with deterministic fixtures for success and representative parse, option, and plugin failures. It must add no validation rules, make no runtime-equivalence claim, and keep MCP or REST consumers as follow-up adapters.
