I meant the opposite.. I was open to the "subclass webhdfs client" approach
landing in branch-2 but not trunk, as that gives the broken code a limited
lifetime. That said, I never arrived at +1 on this patch (as mentioned, it is
a large change, time consuming to review, with issues remaining)
