Well, Daryn will be doing such tests on Y clusters. I believe that we should
try to make 2.0 friendly for backward compatibility.

the header.
Switching on version number means that the community will be supporting some
old cruft for a long time both in client and server. Not sure it's a worthy
trade off for a week or two schedule.
