I think it's a problem because the people who will need unit testing the most
are most likely the ones who won't have it installed. I mean, even simple
things like "hey, keep the case statements alphabetized" has been an uphill
battle. Manipulating global vars is downright dangerous for most of Hadoop's
committers.
