Sorry, I didn't finish my thoughts up there haha. I was thinking of instead of
using heuristics to determine if the file is good, we could use
smart-apply-patch's code to validate the patch. (Without looking at the code,
this might require some re-ordering of things however since we need to be
checked out to the correct branch first.)
