Yeah, I agree with removing metrics v1 from trunk. On branch-2, I think we
should fix to use metrics v2 instead of v1 code. This can be enough grace
period as you mentioned.
On this jira, should we focus on removing metrics v1 on trunk or marking
metrics v1 as deprecated?
