I hadn't had experience with it myself and it took me about five minutes to figure it out. You just fire up the GUI, create a new "Capture Filter", call it "FTP" and define it as "tcp port 21". Then run your program and examine its output. You might want to also ask this in the Fedora lists. Someone there may know something about the bleeding edge changes they are doing.
