However, tcpdump as you started it (I know I told you so :-) captures only what happens on port 21, due to the nature of ftp the data connection uses a different port. So please, do the following tcpdump -w ftplog.dmp host konsensys.com But please be sure no other network connection is active from your box to this host. Afterwards we have logged the full communication which happens between you and the ftp server. Now we should see the transfer of the directory listing.
