Hi Cary, Thanks for trying to bring this Flickr group back to life!
I don’t use use either the Commons or Flickr as much as I'd like to, but I’ve been an editor/user on both sites for a long time and I’m happy to be added as a moderator to the Commons group on Flickr. Caroline: as far as I can tell, Flickr will let you search *for* CC-* or (for Commons purposes) CC licenses that allow commercial reuse within a group [1], but not the inverse. I wonder if there’s some way we could throw all 23.5k photos into the moderation queue, then automatically moderate the 14k photos that have the right license so we can figure out what to do with the others. We should probably send Flickr a feature request for an enforced restriction that “photos submitted to this group must have one of these licenses”, even though that’s unlikely to be implemented any time soon. The Flickr API does have an endpoint that lets you download all the photo metadata from a group, including the license [2].
