Dear list,
I am pretty certain my company is also willing to join in. What we hope to get out of it is: - A base terrain layer. - A third party shape file (which we might convert into a more handy format, anyway). - Multiple editable Plone content layer(s) (polygons and lines) where the layer contents are based on the state of the Plone content (and not only DublinCore, but workflow states in general I think). - (Multiple) selection of the polygon(s) and line(s) and thus navigating back to the Plone content pages, keeping that 'list' of geographical info. -Translation to Dutch. We have been using Steve's pre-releases and they do show promise. I am still struggling with presentation versus logic. As I said in the chat room, our project has 1 maybe 2 programmers available for a couple of months in the near future. I will have to discuss this with the project manager though (as we do have a deadline). At present EryrOL uses the hosted OL version at present and creates a couple of ATContentTypes. But am willing to work to create a main project if others are?? This product provides the OpenLayers library in its skin, and offers different macros to manage the layers, the OL toolbar, etc. It does not provide any Plone content type, so basically it is just a Plone/OL integration toolkit. I know there are other persons here who are developing OL Plone 3 integration products (like EryrOpenlayers for instance, but there are maybe others in preparation). Personally, I need OL to display a WFS layer served by zgeo.wfs. Another colleague of mine needs OL to create an AT geo widget. There are very different needs, and they implies different way to interact with the OL library and web interface. So I am wondering if we could join our efforts to define and maintain a generic OL toolkit that could be used by any Plone 3 content type/products that may need to display OL.
