The way I suggest that this works is simple.

We have different people doing different bits in accordance with their skill
set. The company I work for specialises in making sites in Plone that do a
large amount of GIS. At present to get an map on the site takes a lot of
doing so the company has suggested that we make an OL product that can plug
into Plone nice and easily.

So I will volunteer to make the plone side of things work as my little
"Area" if people would like?

Although design ideas are welcome, the way I thought of last night seems
like a good one to me.

provide some map viewing/editing capabilities (GeoServer I assume) in their
OpenCore software. OpenCore is Plone (and a couple of other FOSS parts),
though I'm not sure which version. It may be a good idea to bounce an email
to Chris Holmes about an OL integration to Plone 3.

OpenPlans is plone 2.5. I haven't peeked at what their planning now but
last I looked they had tinkered with Prima 0.5 and decided to wait on an
easier solution.

I'm in to help although I'm not terribly familiar with the inner
workings of Plone 3 yet. (Book to be ordered soon)

One question for clarification, how does this idea differ from the
PrimaGIS mindset?
