They dont make the plus anymore either. Go to any university's
recycle center and find an endless supply of powerpc parts.

I agree that nubus ppcs are least desireable, but I disagree
with your friends logic here. Apple has its hands full (and then
some) getting osX to work well on their current hardware. Why
would it make sense to spend any effort working out the bugs for
old, slow, value free hardware that requires expensive memory?
The nubus ppc is lost in 2 transitions: m68k->ppc and
nubus->pci. @#$% happens. Apple didnt aim to do it that way.
They aimed at a faster cpu and bus. Now their aiming at a
superior os and they just might pull it off. =-)

Read: it will be a painfull experience. Save yourself the
trouble and drop $300 on an imac if you want to run osX. Shoot,
gut an imac and fit it into your CC case if you can. =-)

I agree here. Mklinux is nice for nubus ppcs. Debian seems best
but Yellowdog might be easiest for pci ppcs. If its the unix
that you're looking for then run with it.
