I've never run into any problems decoding HQX files with StuffIt 5.5, which has worked for me on my Classic running 7.1 and 7.5.5 I don't think HQX will change anytime soon as it's just the binhex standard that goes way back. As for the SIT format change, I don't know of any changes since version 5. Logically it would be silly to stuff 68k software with a version of DropStuff that doesn't run on 68ks, so even if the format does change in the future I don't forsee a major problem.
