but it's been better too.

Sounds like you might have some dirty contacts or failing caps on the
motherboard; there's some info in the FAQ if you're interested in
preventative maintenance.

You sure that disk is good?  Might not be.  13-year-old original floppies
aren't exactly the most reliable things.

If it were me, I'd grab fresh System 6 images from the FAQ and try those.
If that works, use that as a jumping-off point for further upgrades.
