It sounds as if MacTCP is configured to use MacIP over the LocalTalk interface rather
than real TCP/IP over your Asante ethernet adapter.

1. Just to make sure that the Asante adapters are correctly installed, you have no
problems with AppleTalk over ethernet?

2. When you open the MacTCP control panel, it will display all known network
interfaces. In your case these will be labelled LocalTalk and something like "Asante
EN/SC". Make sure that you setup the Asante one.

3. MacTCP is easily confused. To setup MacTCP without the old settings getting in the
way, locate "MacTCP Prep" and "MacTCP DNR" in the system folder, throw them away and
restart. Now try to configure MacTCP from scratch.

4. If you change MacTCP in any way, always reboot.
