I've acquired MacTCP v2.0.6 for System 6.0.8 on my Mac Plus (4MB) w/ an Asante EN/SC ethernet adapter (drivers installed). After installing MacTCP, I configure to my router's settings...
IP address: 192.168.1.102 Mask: 255.255.255.0 Class: C Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (my LinkSys DSL/Cable router) DNS set to -nothing- ...my router gets its info dynamically from the cable modem. Under OS X I am able to specify the IP address of my G4 (192.168.1.100), the subnet mask (255.255.255.0), and the router (192.158.1.1) and omit DNS settings and have things work. But when I go to connect using Fetch 2.1.2, I get an "AppleTalk not configured properly" error or something like the same. Why would it be even looking at AppleTalk? I get this with AppleTalk enabled or disabled in Chooser. It tells me to enable AppleTalk. This is TCP/IP straight up we're talking about here, right? Any advice here? Thanks. bp -- Heisenberg may have slept here. -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
