I'd think a compact. OTOH, the Quadra605/Performa 475's are pretty small. 
Are you custom-building the casing?
Don't forget to make room for "peripheral" equipment - some shock padding, 
mounting, etc.
Come to think of it, reading question 2 below, how about a 1xx-series 
Powerbook?

You'd actually be suprised what can be don4 with an R/C controller - if 
nothing else, find one to do a backup ejection/recovery system (standard 
HPR proceedure.)

Oh, one other place you may want to look for infoL:
http://groups.google.com - look for rec.models.rockets. (If you don't have 
a news server with your ISP, that is.) Google has the advantage of being 
able to search the usenet archive, as well...
