This logic board idea keeps getting better.

When I looked into dedicated controller boards, the ONLY Mac compatible
controller board I could find was over $200 and would require a massive
programming venture and learning curve, have very limited resources, and
still have no easy means of interface.

Browsing, I found a Quadra 605 on eBay for $1.00. It is starting to become
obvious as to which device I will choose. :-) It would be especially great
to be able plug a monitor *into* the rocket (internal video circuitry with
external power source for monitor) and get data that way, and syncing it
with an SE/30 or other compact on-site would be incredibly easy. I do have
a few more questions:

1. What are the dimensions of a Q605 board? (I looked on the 'net and found
pictures but could not find any physical measurements)

2. Is it reasonable to power a Q605 board from a battery, with maybe a hard
disk for booting? How could I pull it off?

3. Is there any serial device that can do even simple "on/off" voltages to
certain circuits, if I could find that then controlling valves would be very
easy (solenoid switches to control liquid flow) -- and for data collection?

Thanks a lot for all the help!

Matt
