I won't be able to open my SE/30 up until this weekend, but I too will check the individual chips on the SIMMs against these numbers; both the set I just received, and the ones from a year ago, were from sunguk (and they've all been working just fine in my SE/30). The recent SIMMs are not the same - physically - as the first batch, but if the numbers on the ones I recently installed match gamba's, it might be an indication that the problem isn't generic, at least (but something specific with either the systems that were tried, or one of the chips on the SIMMs having a timing or voltage-level issue ...which the IIci ignored, but the IIx-SE/30 choked on). Did you try filling the first bank with, say, 1MB simms, and placing the larger ones in the second bank? Or _just_ the 64MB in the first bank? (I did place the recent batch in the second bank's slots. Hmm. I'll see what the effect is if they're in the first bank.) ...developing. ------- Brandon -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
