I counted the pins on my VRAM in my LCIII and they are 68-pin not 60-pin. I haven't counted the pins on the modules in my 7300 but they are the same IIRC. >Looking closely at the numbers on the chips, I notice that 4 of them >have exactly the same numbers on all chips - perhaps this is a batch >number and these are a set? the other two are identical except for the >numbers. No, the long number 'MT4C16270DJ' is a standard model number used by Micron to idnetify the chip type. Micron made (and still make AFAIK) a lot of RAM for Apple. The original 64MB DIMM in my B&W I used to have was a Micron unit. I have ruled out them being Mac IIfx RAM, it is 64-pin. They also seem too small to be system RAM, they might be for an odd-ball Mac I don't know about though. Strange..... At 512kx32bit they seem like VRAM, they are too small to be RAM and too wide to be RAM for an older machine. The Apple branding points to a definite source of a Mac or an Apple //or///, not a different vendors machine. >4 of them have 9652 on all chips - 1 has 9650 and 1 has 9706 - otherwise >the same ie. These are the batch numbers of the individual chips. >BATCH -----> 9650 D USA <-------- ORIGIN >MT4C16270DJ <--------- MODEL NUMBER OF CHIP Above is my interpretation of the chip info. -- -- Mark Benson Any spelling errors are attributed to PEBKAC SilValleyPirate - AIM silicon_valley_pirate_uk - Yahoo!
