This problem is common on the SE/30, and occasionally on the SE, Classic 
and Classic II. For the SE/30, replacing logic board capacitors C3 and C4 
usually fixes it. So you might look for some capacitors to replace on the 
SE logic board. Of course, it would be easier to just swap the board.
