As far as I know, the daisy-chained floppy drives don't work on Macs. The 
daisy chaining is a left over thing from Apple IIs, the IIgs in particular.

I've only tried it once with a Classic and found that indeed only the first 
one will work if you daisy chaining, so it appears to be true.
