I believe it was Gamba who verified that the ROMS and hardware in the Mac
Plus and SE support three drives. Something to do with the physical number
of "sense lines" or some such... Later Macs don't have the hardware
capability for more than two floppy drives.
I've used three floppy drives on my SE, so I know it works. :-)
