Well I only had experience with one. I booted up the computer in the 
science room, tried it out, and it worked fine. There was a lot of junk 
strewn around, so I wanted to get a clean start. I tried reformatting it 
and reinstalling the system software. The reformat failed, and it made 
the drive die.

I'm not saying all Miniscribes are terrible, I'm just saying that the 
one that I used (and which probably hadn't been used in a couple of 
years) was bad.
