Vern, do you have the the correct modem script for the modem your using in
your system folder? I had a simular experience a while back when I put a
33.6 supraexpress on my SE/30, would only get 24 to 28.8 max on it. Was
just used for the local BBS'ing, (untill recently, now it does e-mail too)
using MicrophoneLite to dial out.
Anyway, I went to the mac drivers site through the FAQ's I think, and got
the scripts for the 33.6 installed and it worked, the speeds came up to 33.6
to 38. Maybe the scripts in the FreePPP where 33.6, and now without it you
only have 28.8 in the system file.
Now mind you this Is coming from a newbie, so what worked for me, may not
work for you, but I think it's worth checking out.
