Sounds like an interesting thing to try. The most likely approach would be to use a software PostScript RIP -- for info see http://www.macintouch.com/postscriptalt.html. Some products will automatically RIP a PS file when it is placed in a drop folder on the print server. If the software doesn't do it for you, you could try rolling your own from AppleScript and QuickKeys. All you would need to do on the Mac that wishes to print is to print to file and pop that file onto the print server. It's also worth taking a look at the Print 66 LPDaemon at http://www.geocities.com/barijaona/print66/ which I've used in the past to hook up AppleTalk only laser printers to TCP/IP networks. I don't know whether this will be much use with a non-PostScript device. Mail me off list as I think I have a copy of T-Script somewhere. Does anybody have a copy of Freedom of Press that I could scrounge? Phil -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
