Vern: If the H.D. you're talking about is the one I'm familiar with, It was formatted with Mac OS 7.6, Hard disc tools on the CD. There Was no system folder installed. It was set up for storage only.
To make it boot, You'll have to format it and install a compatable system folder for your machine. and what ever enablers that may be required.
