It may sound weird to you but in a Classic, probably the most valuable part is the picture tube. <end flame bait> Seriously, I'd not throw out as much for a non-working Classic without opening it up and making sure the CRT itself isn't shot. If it has heard the "hiss of death" there's no cure, and there are no spares except from dead Classics :-) .I say this because I have a dead US Classic (shot analog) that donated its CRT to one of my SEs and is now waiting patiently to get a 475 implant. Maybe, if you're lucky, it's just the little PCB at the end of the tube's neck that's come off, or some other trivial problem in the video circuitry you can overcome with a good soldering iron and the info at http://www.biwa.ne.jp/%7Eshamada/fullmac/repairEng.html. But if it's the CRT, give the seller 5 Euros and use the Mac for spares or turn it into a Classic 475. Wish you luck.
