Ah, further explanation is in order:
(correction: PRAM battery's use-by date is May 2012,
2002 was a typo)
The image I linked to was done in Photoshop on another
machine, but exactly mimics what is on the SE/30's
screen - The grayish raster stretches all the way
across the CRT from edge to edge horizontally, but has
approximately 1/4 to 1/3 of an inch of black at the
top and bottom, making the display look "letterboxed."
The picture does not roll or fluctuate, but the main
problem still lies in that there appears to be no
signal coming from the logic board.
