If it's a reasonably recent disk image, then you could mount it on the
desktop and do some copying. I've had pretty good luck with that. If
it's an image of an old boot disk or old documents, there might be some
issues with file types, but it won't hurt anything.

I know you're not supposed to use 1.4 M floppies with 800K drives (even 
with the tape over the hole trick). But what I'm confused about is disk 
images. If I have an 800k image can I copy that to 1.4m floppy in a 1.4m

drive?
