I have six LC575s and I finally have some time to learn about their
capabilities. I am a Teacher and learned on a 475. Unfortunately when
our School Boards amalgamated the Computer illiterates that run
things decided to go with PCS (shudder) ergo I have a lot of older
Macs around.At home here I have an Imac, a couple of 6400s and the
LCs. I had knee surgery and am off until after Christmas sooooo....
I have several students who do not have computers at home and what I
would like to do is at least provide them with Internet capability
(the local phone company is willing to provide some access). Now what
do I need to do with these 575s to accomplish this? Will they work
with High Speed? What printers can we use with them? What OS do they
need? Can you increase storage capacity? Can you increase CD ROM
drive speeds? How difficult is it to obtain extra RAM? Can the
monitors be used for other machines?
All of these beautiful little macs do have ethernet cards, a couple
have 8.1 most have 16RAM with one @ 32. I have one external 56k
Modem.
I have lots of parts for these and other LCs if anyone wants
anything I will do the best I can to help .
Well thats' a lot and that's enough for now.
P.S.Our Techies cannot answer most of these questions so I thought I
would ask the experts
