I am working on a design for a serial/parallel converter that will allow me
to use parallel printers with my mac se. I know power print is available,
but new versions are expensive and old versions can be quite hard to get.
Also, using my Panasonic kxp4410 laser has become somewhat of an obsession
since my plw ls died (leaving me with an imagewriter ii) So far, I've worked
out:
1 hsko --> ???
2 hski <-- ack (10)
3 txd- --> 8-bit shift register (7491?) w/ ouptputs tied to pins 2-9
(timed with a clock pulse [which also signals strobe (1)])
4 gnd <-> gnd (18-25)
5 rxd- <-- bsy (11)
6 txd+ (float)
7 gpi <-- error (15), paper out (12)
8 rxd+ --> gnd (18-25)
?vdc --> lf/cr (14)
Any input on this would be quite welcome, either on-list or off.
