I can tell you what I did on a Plus. I mounted a 12V fan up inside the case that exhausts air through one of the top vents. To mount it I used thin wire (wirewrap wire) to attach it to the vent, running the wires (one at each corner of the fan) through the vents and twisting the wire on the outside.As the fan I had moved more air than I needed and was loud I added a resistor to drop the voltage (to around 8V IIRC). I connected the fan to a capacitor on the +12V power supply on the logic board. I used clip lead clips to attach it.
