I wouldn't say entirely useless. Seriously crippled or perhaps "web challenged" maybe. MacWWW works great for sites that have mostly text and you don't have to put up with ads of any kind. The serious drawback is that you can't fill out forms or click buttons. You also need Fetch if you want to download from FTPs.
