While I wouldn't kill a working SE or SE/30 to do this with, I think it's a
neat idea. PCs (and Macs) as a whole have really become too large as of
late, that's one thing that attracts me to the SE/30.  Everything that you
need (other than a CD-ROM drive) in a small portable case. One power cord
and that's it. I think that the 20th Anniversary Mac was a step in the right
direction. However, with larger displays being the norm now, that's going to
be harder to do. Though I question the need of a 21" display to send email
and web surf with, and I'm on the net a lot more than the average person.
The new mini-ITX boards harken back to that same idea to some extent.
However, that particular case "mod" really looks bad. It's not tough to cut
a huge hole on the front of the case and make things work. If you're going
to take the time to do it, get a slot loading drive and do everything you
can to make it LOOK like a working Macintosh. Then I'll be impressed.
