Greetings, Compact-Macs listers: <two-cents'-worth> When I upgraded my Classic to a Classic II years ago (before I was comfortable cracking into the cases), the tech noted a bad smell in the case. Yup, I used to smoke in the living room, and tar and nicotine made it all the way back to the office in the back of my house.
The tech blew the insides clean with compressed air, focusing on everything except the original Classic mobo which would be taken out anyhoo. Ran the original Classic for one day and then swapped out the mobo and ran it for another day. Told me never to smoke in the house again. I cleaned the outside of the case with Windex, taking care that the Windex that got on the monitor didn't leak into the case.
